“Sara has a gift for clarifying the nebulous, explaining the confusing, and bringing unframed questions to the surface.” - L. Morgan
Why We Need This Guide
Whenever we engage our creativity we enter the Round World, a space that is at once deeply enlivening and deeply terrifying.
Since most of us were raised in the Square World where families, schools, and workplaces are focused on making us into reliable and efficient producers instead of authentic and empowered creators, most of us come to our encounters with the Round World quite unprepared.
Without a guide to the Round World, we can easily conclude that there is something wrong with us when we run into challenges that stop us cold or experience crises that test us deeply. Too many of us give up, telling ourselves that we must lack some talent or genius that others have and we don’t.
Welcome to the Round World: What to Expect When You’re Creating is the map we’ve been missing that helps us recognize that we’re in genuinely difficult terrain with distinct and predictable features, and reminds us we have access to everything we need to help us keep going and see our creative dreams to fruition.
Welcome to the Round World will help you make sense of challenging experiences that come with the territory including:
Fear and anxiety
Void times when your creative juices run dry
Restarting again and again
Difficulties with commitment, completion, or letting go
Ambivalence about visibility
You’ll also learn to rise through these challenges of creating using the seven core practices that seasoned creators rely on to fuel their creative drive, deepen their trust in themselves and the process, and keep going.
“Sara and her teachings have had such a profound influence...if I had a bobble-headed Sara I'd put her on my altar AND my car's dashboard.” - M. West
